The Gate Alarm indoor base receiver plugs into any Australian 240V power point. The base receiver sounds a volume adjustable chime or melody the moment it receives a wireless motion triggered signal up to 800m away.
With over 30 sound adjustable audio melodies or sounds from which to choose, including a dog bark, there is something for everyone. In other words, those indoors will hear a warning sound when any person or vehicle approaches your property gate or boundary. The base receiver can accommodate up to 4 seperate zones. One zone is included with each kit and additional zones optional.
The motion sensor has a built in rechargeable lithium battery. No need to replace the battery as it will slowly trickle charge even in poor weather. The battery won’t go flat so don’t be concerned. However, if the motion sensor is mounted in a shaded or dark area with inadequate sunlight, the sensor battery can be recharged from PC USB or a phone charger. We provide our customers with a free 5V USB charger for that purpose.
Wireless sensor transmission range?
Up to 800m wireless distance can be achieved depending on terrain and obstacles. A clear a line of sight is ideal. Obstacles between the transmitter and base receiver can impact the wireless signal range but in most cases, simply moving the base receiver or repositing the motion sensor will fix it. It's wise to test wireless reception before mounting the sensor.
Motion detection range?
This high precision wireless driveway alarm system features a low-rate false alert with adjustable sensitivity. The motion detection distance range is adjustable from Low, Medium to High range up to 21m. Wireless alert distance from the motion sensor to the indoor base receiver is up to 800m depending on terrain and certain obstacle factors.
The sensor mounting height ought to be about 1m above ground level. It can be mounted higher but and tilted slightly toward the ground. Do NOT aim the solar sensor at the sun or horizon as the sensor needs to have a ground point of reference. Aiming the sensor at the sun will shorten it’s life and may also affect detecting motion so do take this into account.
The solar sensor has a 60°detection angle up to 21m motion sensing distance, the wireless driveway and gate alert system is both cost effective and ideal for driveways, gates, walking paths and entry or exit points.
Pictured below is a motion sensor attached to a timber boundary post. Note the sensor aimed slightly downward rather than horizontal.
Is this system expandable?
The wireless driveway alarm system includes one solar motion sensor and one base receiver. Can expanded to include up to 4 solar motion sensors and/o multi base receivers for complete property coverage. 5 adjustable levels of volume with up to 35 optional chime melodies, you know exactly which zone has been breached. Additional motion sensors or base receiver can be ordered at our website checkout.
Please note there are no base receiver or motion sensor relay inputs or outputs. In other words, 3rd party external devices cannot be interfaced with this device. Is the motion sensor weatherproof?
The motion sensor is IP66 weatherproof rated and designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Ideal for homes, yards, gates or anywhere motion is likely to be occur. The base receiver is not weatherproof. It must be undercover and not subject to condensation and moisture.
Is the kit easy to install myself?
Anyone with a screwdriver or a cordless drill can easily attached the solar motion sensor on a wall, post, or any other stable object. We don’t recommend mounting the motion sensor to a tree trunk or branch as wind movement can potentially cause the motion sensor to false trigger. A stable secure mounting position is recommended.
We also recommend the solar panel to be tilted about 30 degrees and angled slightly toward the ground rather than horizontal so the sensor has a “point of reference” Mounting screws are provided with each kit.

One base receiver can accommodate up to 4 solar motion sensor panels although base receiver numbers are unlimited.
As mentioned, the base receiver can be up to 800m from any connected sensor, so line of sight is important with the least obstacles as possible. That’s not to say it won’t function with a few trees in between but the less obstacles the longer the wireless distance. In some case slightly altering the position of a motion sensor or base receiver can make all the difference but as a rule, we don’t normally encounter issues with wireless transmission distance, particularly shorter range.
The alarm base receiver pictured below connects to a 240V power point. It’s not battery powered although our Solar Wireless Driveway Alert can be either mains or AA battery powered.

How to Arm the system
Each kit is supplied with a 4Ch base receiver and a single solar motion sensor. If extra motion sensors or base receivers are needed, order from our online checkout. If unsure, please call or email our office sales@hiddencamera.com.au
In most cases the 1st PIR motion sensor is already programmed so nothing more to do. Additional motion sensors or base receivers can be easily added by you. The included user manual explains the easy procedure which only takes a few minutes. If on the other hand you prefer that we program extra sensors in, please advise phone phone or email. No extra cost.
On the back of the motion sensor is a red rubber removable grommet. This reveals a 5V USB charge point. The sensor is solar powered however, if for any reason the battery power becomes low, it can be recharged from PC or a most 5V USB phone chargers.
Beside that is an On/OFF button.
To switch the motion sensor on, press and release the on/off button 4 times then wait 30 seconds. Wave your hand in front of the senor to trigger the base receiver alert or chime.
If not happy with the chime or melody, there are 35 different selections from which to choose.
How to adjust motion sensitivity levels?
3 separate levels, High, Medium, and Low. Switch off the sensor by pressing and releasing the on/off button 3 times. A long beep will sound.
Low Sensitivity – Press the on/off 3 times - 7.5m
Medium Sensitivity – Press the on/off 4 times - 15m
High Sensitivity - Press the on/off 5 times - 21m
