So how does this device work and what’s it all about?
Internal rechargeable battery powered, our super high quality WiFi audio voice recorder is amazing. It can function for days if not weeks on just one charge depending on how often the device is recording and/or remotely accessed.  More on that subject later but remember, it can also be powered for long term use if preferred.

Hidden Camera Surveillance customers receive an Australia 5V power adapter at no extra cost plus our in house written easy to understand user manual with screenshots, not to mention personal telephone support if needed.   

When connected to your home or office WiFi network (no one can access the recorder other than you) so you choose whether to listen in live, record to your phone or simply allow the WiFi Voice Recorder to record voice audio directly to an optional concealed micro SD memory card. An SD card allows the recorder to save voice recordings with local or remote playback from anywhere.  All recordings are time and date stamped for authenticity.

Mobile Phone remote access means you have direct access to the spy voice recorder from anywhere and distance isn’t a factor. This wireless listening device uses  WIFI to connect with your mobile phone App.  

If you’re unable to listen in live for any reason, it doesn’t matter because the WiFi Listening Bug will auto record. This allows the authorised user to remotely access recordings by time or date search. In other words locally or remotely replay saved audio recordings whenever it suits. Each recording is a small time and date stamped file so click on any file to playback and it's it’s quite easy. If you wish to retain any recording, simply download to your phone, PC or MAC.  The memory card can be removed from the WiFi Audio Voice Recorder and with our supplied USB SD card reader, play recordings on PC or MAC. What could be easier? 

How much memory does the WiFi Hidden Voice Recorder need?
An audio or WAV file is much smaller than a video file.  Generally about 1MB per minute so to put this into perspective, 1GB of SD card memory can store approximately 1000 minutes or 16 hours of audio.  

How Good is the Audio Quality?
In a word…outstanding ! Still not convinced? Listen to the tennis TV audio broadcast above. In this audio demo, the WiFi Voice Recorder is about 3m from a television yet as you can hear, the audio quality is excellent.  Yes, it will pick up other background noise as well, so the key is to place the device as close as possible to the area under surveillance. The phone App does support multi listening device recorders so if you do need to cover several zones order or rooms, order an additional WiFi Mini Voice Recorder.

The manufacturer specifications claim the Voice Recorder can detect audio up to 5m away however, during in-house product testing, depending on audio volume and surrounding noise, audio recording can be detected and be equally impressive even from a distance of 10m or more.  All recordings are time and date stamped so you know exactly when and on what date any particular audio file was recorded.

Can I share my WiFi Listening Device with others?
Yes, with granted password access, our App allows you (the authorised user) to share password protected remote access with others.  Share your WiFi listening Device Audio Voice Recorder/s with friends, family, and trusted work colleagues.  

How does Voice Detection work?
This particular WiFi Voice Audio Recorder is small yet powerful in the sense that App settings allow the authorised user to record each time audio is detected. Recording is set to a specific selected time slot ranging from 1, 5, 10 and up to 30 minutes duration. In most cases 1-5 minutes is ideal but do take into account that a longer recording duration will consume battery power faster than standard.

When the area surrounding the Listening Device is relatively silent (audio volume is app adjustable) it enters into a “sleep mode” thus conserving battery power.  When audio volume is detected above a certain App selected level, this triggers the device to awaken and resume recording for the selected time duration. If audio continues above the selected time, the listening device will continue to record until audio ceases.  Each recording becomes a time and date stamped file so to playback any voice recording, simply select any file. If the file needs to be retained, save it. 

Please note other than sensing audio to trigger recording, this device supports Constant Recording as well.  If for any reason you are concerned that critical audio may be missed or not recorded, select the constant recording function.  If constantly recording for a prolonged duration, use the supplied 5V Power supply (or a powerbank) or you may wish to consider our WiFi Voice Recorder with Ultra Long Standby & External Microphone 

Please note in some instances you may like this device but WiFi is not available.  It can still be used as a recorder regardless of WiFi or Internet however, we now have a new 4G Voice Recorder which only needs a prepaid standard SIM card. Our 4G Voice Recorder doesn't need WiFi.  

What is a Push Alert?
An exciting feature of this voice activated listening device recorder is the audio detection function.  Audio detection sensitivity is an App controlled feature with low, medium and high audio sensing settings.  The further away the listening device from audio the more sensitive the microphone will need to be. When audio is detected above a certain volume level, this is the trigger to record anywhere from 1-30 minutes.  

Once this mini voice recorder senses audio or voice conversation nearby, it will alert you by way of a mobile phone Push Alert alert similar to a text although free. Once the instant alert is received, the device will be recording however, you also have the option to remotely listen in or allow the device to record and playback later. During a remote live audio connection, the authorised user/s have the option to record directly to their phone, even if connected to the 4G mobile network. 

Provided phone App notifications are enabled, you and/or other authorised users will receive a push alert which is basically a “heads up” to audio being detected and recorded. Customers often use the notification to remotely login and listen in live but that’s a personal choice. In other words, you don’t need to be listening in live to be recording so nothing is missed.

Is Constant Recording Supported?
Yes this WiFi listening device does support Constant Recording including Audio Volume Adjustment Recording. Constant recording is fine, although as mentioned, the internal lithium camera battery will then be limited to around 6-7 hours from one charge. That’s not to say this audio voice recorder can’t be powered for pretty much unlimited recording potential. It can be connected to power or connected to an external power bank with larger battery capacity compared to the voice recorder battery.  When the memory card is full, Loop or Recycle recording becomes active.  In other words, when the card is full it will slowly overwrite from the earliest recording date.  If you wish to stop recording when the memory card is full, it supports that option as well. 

What is Cloud Backup?
Whilst our WiFi Listening Device with Push Notifications supports recording up to 128GB, it also supports Cloud Recording Backup. Cloud isn’t free, there is a small fee associated with the service (free 1 month trial) but in a nutshell, whatever is recorded is saved or backed up remotely to a secure Cloud server. Worse case scenario should the recorder be stolen or damaged or the memory card removed, the recordings up to that time will have been saved to Cloud so you always have remote App access to sensitive recordings no matter what. Cloud fees are not in any way affiliated with Hidden Camera Surveillance. Cloud backup is an App option service only.

What if I don’t have WiFi can I still use it?
Yes, this listening device can still be used as a standard recorder even without WiFi, but you won’t have remote access to the device, saved recordings or Cloud.  If you prefer to set the recorder to constant or audio activation, the idea is to first pre-set the camera to your desired recording settings and then take the device to the desired location. 

Press button recording is also accepted. To review stored recordings, switch the device off, remove the SD memory card and connect the card to your PC or MAC USB interface using our supplied USB card reader. Listen to recordings at your leisure and save any desired recording to PC.  

How long will the battery last under normal conditions?
Other than constant recording, this device is in STANDBY MODE when not recording.  The WiFi Voice Recorder enters a sleep mode to conserve battery power but it’s always listening for audio volume wake up.  With 3 selectable modes, each mode has a bearing on battery storage capacity. The more often the device is recording and the more frequently remotely accessed, the faster it will use battery power.

If the recorder is set to Mode B this is the most efficient power mode. The device isn’t recording as there is no audio. With fewer remote connections, expect up to 20 days standby from 1 battery charge but it's not guaranteed and not considered warranty if standby expectations are not met. This is a guide only.  If the device is frequently recording with frequent live monitoring, additional power is used resulting in fewer standby days.  Mode B means the device will limit remote access to 1 minute after detecting audio and recording.  

Mode A on the other hand uses slightly more battery power but offers instant remote access as well,  Mode A is normally the preferred recording and remote access selection.

Continuous Recording Mode
When this Listening Device is connected to WiFi, users may access live audio at any time. In this mode the device will record continuously including loop recording (recycle recording) when the SD card is full. Expect around 6-7 hours from one battery charge as there is no standby in this mode.

Power Saving Mode A – Standby current 1.6mA/h
When the WiFi Voice Recorder is connected to WiFi users may access live audio at any time. When sound activated, it will record for 1 minute or more and send a push alert to your phone. Approximately 14 days standby depending on recording duration and recording frequency.

Power Saving Mode B – Standby current 1mA/h
When the Listening Device is connected to WiFi, users may ONLY App access live audio within 1 minute of each sound-triggered activation.  When audio activates recording, it will record for 1-30 minutes and send a push alert to your phone. Approximately 20 days standby depending on recording factors.
