So how does it work?
Supplied with an internal rechargeable lithium battery for relatively long term use, it can also be 5V USB powered for long term use or a powerbank.  This high quality 4G audio voice recorder. Amazing high quality live audio and recording because it's digital rather than analogue. Even better, the tiny microphone so sensitive, it can detect and record from 1-12m depending on volume level.  

Please note this 4G Voice Recorder is available with an external 1m flexible microphone as pictured or without the external microphone which is then built into the main box. 

Ideal for any room surveillance but do take into account (as with any audio recording device) if there is background noise, TV, Radio, loud traffic noise, closing of doors etc, such noises can trigger recording but it’s not doing any harm.  Audio volume and recording playback quality can be enhanced even further with the use of some PC audio programs but in most cases, it’s not needed.   

This audio voice recorder 4G can function for days if not weeks on just one battery charge, depending on how often the device is recording and how often it’s remotely accessed.  More on that subject later but it can also be USB 5V powered for longer term use if preferred.

Real-Time Listening and Voice Triggered Recording
Listening devices come in many shapes and sizes with various functions. Standard voice recorders simply record to internal memory SD card and recordings replayed directly from the device speaker or downloaded to PC. Basic voice recorders can be found in everyday devices such as pens or wrist watches. What makes this 4G Listening Device different to others is the “remote access” function as you can’t remotely access standard voice recorders.  Non 4G Voice recorders have limited battery capacity and often a shorter recording duration.

A Covert Listening Device is ideal for quality monitoring and recording room or office conversations.  The device itself is completely silent and because it has a 1m flexible extension microphone, the recorder (as pictured below) can be completely hidden whilst only exposing the tiny microphone at the end of the 1m flexible lead making it easy to hide anywhere.  Only authorised user/s may remotely access the device and audio recordings. 

Can I listen in live from my mobile phone?
That’s one of the key features that make this 4G Listening device so brilliant. Customers supply their own 4G enabled SIM card. Visit a Telstra or Optus shop, simply order a standard prepaid SIM with voice, data, and text (same as any phone SIM) with credit remotely topped up when needed. 

Unlike a 4G Video Security camera which requires more data, our 4G voice recorder is quite different as data usage is relatively small by comparison, even with prolonged recording. 4G Voice data only uses about 8MB per hour which is 100 x less than video.

Slot the prepaid SIM into the concealed voice recorder slot.  A free phone App or PC Widget is required to setup the device time and date, recording parameters and download recordings to PC or MAC. We supply our customers with easy to understand detailed instructions. 

With your 4G digital voice recorder SIM enabled, all SIM cards have a mobile number.  From your mobile phone, simply call the device SIM which instantly opens a LIVE audio channel to secretly listen in anytime and from anywhere. The voice recorder will not ring or make any sound so 100% discreet.

Same as a call to any other mobile number but in this case the device opens a listening channel, tantamount to a one-way telephone conversation.  Listen in for as long as you like.  Live audio will use more battery power (just like a cell phone) so if you intend to listen in long term, perhaps connect the voice recorder to 5V our power adapter similar to a phone charger.   

How long will the battery last before needing a recharge?  
It very much depends on how often the voice recorder is being remotely accessed, recording, and uploading.  If the battery is fully charged with continuous recording uploading to the Cloud server, allow about 20 hours before needing a recharge.  Recharging will take about 2 hours.

If on the other hand the device is set to Voice Detection Standby, allow for about 7 days on one battery charge.  In Voice detection mode, customers can receive push notifications when audio is auto Cloud uploaded. The 4G voice recorder enters into a “hibernation mode” when it’s not recording.  However, when it detects audio above a certain DB level, this is the trigger to auto wake and record for a specific time period, perhaps a minute or more depending on settings.  If audio continues beyonf 1 minute, it will continue to record in pre-set timed segments.  Once sound volume ceases or not it's detecting any further audio/voice, it returns to “sleep mode” conserving internal battery power. 

The point is recording options are totally at the user’s discretion. Device functions can be easily altered directly from your PC or MAC widget. Connect the voice recorder to PC USB (USB lead supplied) open the "audio monitor" widget, make the change, save any alteration then safely eject, it’s that simple.  All audio recordings are time and date stamped for authenticity.  The “audio monitor” widget will ask you to copy the PC time and date or enter time and date manually. 

The voice-activated recording feature is brilliant and serves various functions.  The 4G audio recorder can auto save recordings when it detects sound but you also have the option to manually record allowing you to start and stop recordings as needed. This dual function ensures you never miss a thing.

Is cloud Recording free?
This covert 4G voice recorder offers free cloud storage for the first two days after activation which allows you to upload and access recordings without any initial cost to basically evaluate the service. Select unlimited cloud storage for a small subscription, ensuring that all recordings are safely stored and easily accessible. Any optional cloud fee is not a service offered from Hidden Camera Surveillance. This is a product enabled service only and certainly not compulsory.

Otherwise, there is inbuilt non removeable memory so that internal saved recordings may be replayed on PC or MAC.  Also supports LOOP or Recycle recording which overwrites the earliest recordings when internal memory is full.  When Cloud is enabled, users may elect to receive push notifications alerts when audio files are uploaded to the Cloud server. This ensures you receive real-time updates for easier recording management.  Our WiFi Voice Recorders other the other hand have push alerts as standard.  Our WiFi voice recorders support Cloud but most prefer to use a micro SD card for recording with massive recording potential uploaded and replayed even without Cloud.

Scheduled Recording
The Scheduled recording Widget feature allows for setting specific device wake up and sleep times. This function is ideal for routine monitoring which conserves battery power because it’s not recording 24/7 and only during scheduled recording times.

Audio Upload to Cloud Storage
All audio recordings can be auto uploaded to cloud storage for secure access and secure retainment. Recordings may also be downloaded from the Cloud direct to your phone or PC.   

Internal Memory Storage for Immediate Access
In addition to cloud storage, internal memory that can save up to 1 hour of constant audio before being overwritten which is why Cloud in some cases is preferred but if 1 hour of audio is often adequate for most if Cloud isn't required. You don’t need power, WiFi or Internet.  Loop recording automatically overwrites the oldest  internal storage files every hour, ensuring you never run out of space for new recordings.

Listening Device Voice Recorder 4G?
The optimal solution for covert audio surveillance when WiFi is NOT available.  Remote live listening, voice detection and constant recording make it suitable for any application.

The integration of cloud storage ensures that recordings are safely stored and easily accessible, while its low power consumption and long-lasting battery life is an added bonus. The easy DIY installation allows you to disguise or hide this device practically anywhere or in anything.

Remote Access via a Mobile Phone means you have direct access to the voice recorder from anywhere as distance isn’t a factor.  If you’re unable to listen in live for any reason, it doesn’t matter because our 4G Mini Voice Recorder will do it anyway. Each recording is a small time and date stamped file so click on any file to locally or remotely playback and/or save.

How Good is the Audio Recording Quality?
In a word…outstanding! Our WiFi and 4G Voice Recorders and models share similar quality audio.  See our WiFi Listening Device Voice Recorder then scroll down and listen to the tennis broadcast audio.  

In this audio quality demo, the Listening Device Voice Recorder is recording approximately 3m from a television yet as you can hear, the audio quality is excellent. Even over a much longer distance, the audio clarity is still crystal.  It may sense and record other background noise as well, so the key is to place the device near the area under audio surveillance. The App does support multi listening device recorders. If you need to cover more zones, order an additional 4G or WiFi Voice Recorder.

Manufacturer specifications claim the Voice Recorder can detect audio up to 5m away however, our in-house product testing, depending on audio volume and surrounding noise, can be equally impressive even from a distance of 10m or more.  Our WiFi enabled Digital Voice Recorders support both SD card (up to 128GB) or Cloud but the battery capacity is significantly longer than the 4G version.   

Can I share my 4G Listening Device with others?
Yes, with granted password access, our App allows you (the authorised user) to share password protected remote access with others.  Share your WiFi or 4G listening Device Audio Voice Recorder/s with friends, family, and trusted work colleagues.  Please note Cloud fees are not in any way affiliated with Hidden Camera Surveillance.
