Description
Wireless Solar Gate Alarm is ideal for short to long range wireless motion audio alerts. Uncomplicated and easy DIY.  The wireless base receiver can be either AA battery or 5V USB powered. Hidden Camera Surveillance will provide each customer with a free Australian 5V power supply.  The wireless solar motion sensor will send a motion triggered signal or pulse to the base receiver up to 800m away. This triggers the base receiver to sound and audio adjustable chime for about 10 seconds including a visual LED alert nominating which of the 4 zones detected activity.

Wireless Driveway & Gate Alert kit is basically a zone movement alert system. It's providing a "heads up" audio chime to movement being detected within a 10m range of the motion sensor pictured below. Audio alerts are easily switched off if not needed but still see an LED without audio.  The supplied base receiver can accommodate up to 4 solar gate alert panels (1 supplied with each kit) although if you have more than 1 are of concern, extra solar motion sensors are optionally available upon request. The Solar Powered PIR Driveway Alarm outdoor motion sensor is powered by a solar charged lithium battery. No need to replace the battery and it will even charge on cloudy or rainy days. The battery won’t go flat so don’t be concerned. However, if the motion sensor is mounted in a shaded or dark area with poor sunlight, the motion sensor can be manually quickly charged with our 5V power supply.

Hidden Camera Surveillance offers customers our free 5V USB battery charger but in most cases it won’t be needed. The same 5V USB power supply can also be used to power the base receiver if needed. The base receiver uses 4 x AA alkaline batteries which will keep it powered for months at a time.  The base receiver is wireless and therefore easily moved regardless of whether its battery or mains powered.

What is the wireless transmission range?
Up to 800m or so can be achieved but that distance may vary depending on obstacles between the transmitter and receiver.  With a reasonable line of sight, it won’t be an issue for most as the transmitter is basically a motion sensing pulse only rather than a constant wireless transmission.  The wireless pulse triggers the base receiver to chime.

What is the motion detection range?
This high precision wireless driveway alarm system features a low-rate false alert with adjustable sensitivity. The motion detection range is approximately 10m  depending on the mounted height and we suggest about 1m from ground level is ideal. The solar sensor can be mounted higher and the adjustable motion sensor tilted or angled downward. The idea is NOT to mount or aim the sensor toward the sun or horizon as the sensor does need to see the ground as a "point of reference". The solar sensor has a 60° detection angle ideal for driveways, gates, sheds, walking paths and any other entry or exit point. 

Is this system expandable?
The wireless driveway alarm system includes one solar motion sensor and one base receiver. Optionally it can be expanded to accommodate up to 4 solar motion sensors and unlimited receivers for complete property coverage.  6 levels of volume adjustment and 4 optional chimes are designed to match different motion sensors zones. The differing chimes are designed to determine which of the 1-4 zones detected motion. The base receiver also displays channel 1-4 so apart from the audio chime or alert, the visual LED alert allows you instantly see which zone detected motion.  

Please note this wireless solar gate alert system does NOT accommodate email, WiFi or mobile phone text alerts.  This DIY kit is predominantly and audio motion alerts system only. However, if you do have a need for a similar industrial wireless driveway and gate alert with the option for 4G text alerts, it is available.

Is the motion sensor weatherproof?
The motion sensor is IP66 rated weatherproof and designed for both indoor or outdoor use. Ideal for homes, yards, gates, vineyards or any location where motion is likely to be detected.  The 4 zone base receiver on the other hand is not weatherproof and ought to be indoors or undercover where be subject to moisture or condensation.

Is the kit easy to install myself?
Anyone with a screwdriver and perhaps a cordless drill can easily attached the solar motion sensor on a wall, post, or any other stable object.  We don’t recommend mounting the motion sensor to a tree trunk or branch which will obviously move about in the wind and potentially cause the motion sensor to false trigger, so a stable and secure environment is necessary. 

We also recommend the solar panel to be tilted at about 30 degrees and angled more toward the ground rather than horizontal so that the motion sensor has a “point of reference” Screws etc provided with each kit.

One base receiver can accommodate up to 4 solar motion sensor panels however, the number of base receivers which can be added to any one system is basically unlimited.  

In this image the base receiver is inside the house and the solar motion transmitter is fixed to a driveway wooden pole.  The motion sensor detects the motion of a person walking up the driveway and sends a wireless pulse signal to the base receiver.
