This WiFi 12VDC 720P high resolution covert colour Smoke Detector Camera has a wide angle semi horizontal view designed for indoor room or office surveillance. Please note this is NOT a functional Smoke Alarm. It’s a modified device and should not be used for that purpose nor is it designed to replace any existing smoke detector.  First and foremost this is a spy security camera and should be treated as such.

This Smoke Detector Spy Security Camera Recorder is not your average hidden camera. This is an "all in one" high resolution 720P WiFi colour pinhole camera (excellent in low light as well) with a super high gain pinhole microphone for crystal clear audio recording in sync with video.

The pinhole CCD camera provides a perfect 100-degree semi horizontal or slightly downward 15 degree wide view which is ideal for any room or office large or small.

The concealed pinhole colour camera will discreetly record whenever motion is detected up to 10m. This is NOT an IR camera so it can't recording in total darkness. Ideally the lighting needs to be adequate or at the very least with a room light switched on. 

How do I setup the camera?
This high resolution WiFi Smoke detector camera comes with an Ios or Android mobile phone App. Once the camera is mounted to the room ceiling and powered on, provided you have WiFi in the camera zone (best to test before mounting the camera) all of the camera settings are App controlled.

There are 2 types of remote access, P2P and WiFi.  P2P is basically accessing the camera using your mobile phone through the existing wireless router, similar to bluetooth. To LIVE view the camera away from the office using either another WiFi network or 3/4G, you need to enter the router password. No other network users will see or have any access to the camera. In fact there is no reference to any camera online so it's quite discreet. 

Once you access the camera remotely from your mobile phone, the authorised user/s (can be up to 10) will have LIVE viewing access to the camera and audio. In other words from anywhere in the world you will see the camera live on your phone, including the camera menu settings thus allowing you not just set or alter camera settings but playback recordings.  

If viewing live, by all means record what you see directly to your phone however, if using an internal SD memory card, this device will still record just the same and you then have local and remote access to the memory card.

It may be your preference to receive push alerts or email alerts when motion is detected. This is a short “beep beep” on your phone (similar to a text), basically a heads up alert to motion which can be armed or disarmed.

Motion recording can be set to 10 seconds, 30, 1 minute or longer.  If motion continues longer than the pre-set time, it will continue to record until motion stops.  Simple as that!  Program the camera to STOP recording when the SD card is full or LOOP RECYCLE recording meaning it will auto over write from the earliest date when full.  In loop recording mode the SD card will record over itself time and time again until you say stop. Obviously the larger the SD card (optional) the longer the recording capacity before it overwrites but it supports up to 128GB.

Is this camera battery operated?
This hidden camera is not battery operated but it could be if a 12V battery was connected to the camera. This WiFi Smoke detector camera is designed to be 12V powered.  However, if you are seeking a higher resolution 1080P battery powered Smoke Alarm it is available. We also offer a very similar Vertical View WiFi 1080P Smoke detector camera  rather than horizontal.

If fixing this camera to the room ceiling, you need to have a power point handy or an extension cord in the ceiling. We provide an Australian 12V1A power supply with each camera, which plugs into a standard power point.  Most ceilings will have a power point but you need to ensure the point isn’t connected to a light switch as switching the light off will also switch off power to the camera. 

For that reason either use an extension cord from your nearest power active point to the camera 12V power supply or have an electrician put in a celling power point for you. As mentioned use a battery if you prefer but that will mean recharging frequently to keep the camera functional.
