Can the Pro Radar Car Alarm detect people outside the car?
Yes, absolutely. This device uses a radar sensor (not infrared) to detect static or continuous movement outside the car up to 8 meters and through glass. If a person is loitering close to your vehicle for more than 10 seconds, this device will automatically trigger a 120dB internal Siren for 1 minute then auto switch off and rearm.
The potential crim will hear the alarm even if the car isn’t touched to that point which is a a huge theft deterrent. Often the alert is unexpected so it would be foolish to attempt break-in with the audio alarm already blaring within the vehicle.
How does it work?
As the images depict, ideally it simply plugs into a cigarette lighter adapter. When the ignition is on the vehicle 12/24V battery will auto recharge the car alarm internal battery, so it’s always primed and ready. The alarm is armed and disarmed using the included wireless remote control. However, the alarm internal rechargeable battery can remain on standby for up to 6 days on one charge. Other than vehicle 12/24V charging it also supports USB and mini USB charging so it can be powered and ideal for long term use as well. The car ignition or accessories does NOT need to be on as the radar alarm sensor has its own internal rechargeable battery.
The motion sensing radar has a 120 degree field of view so the trajectory or field of view can be altered to suit the needs of any user. It doesn’t need to be slotted into a vehicle cigarette lighter adapter, it’s just a preference otherwise it can be placed anywhere.
