1. The Memory Card (The "Brain")

The camera needs a place to save video. While you can use your own, the company strongly suggests using theirs because they "pre-test" it.

• The Rule: If you use your own card, it must be a specific brand (SanDisk or Kingston) and a specific speed (Class 10).

• Example: Imagine trying to put diesel fuel in a gas car. It might fit in the tank, but the car won't run. Using a cheap, slow SD card will cause the camera to lag or fail to save video entirely.

2. Plug-and-Play Setup

• The Rule: Insert card first, then power it on.

How long will an SD card record before its full?
This where motion detection is better suited compared to constant recording. If motion is detected, the HD 1080P AC Adapter Mini Security Camera  will record for 1 minute and after that time, enter into a standby or hybernation mode. To completely fill a 64GB SD card at HD quality takes about 10-12 hours of constant recording so unlikely short term.

One of the new functions is the ability to set various recording qualities. 720P has a slightly more narrow field of view but uses far less memory or about half that of 1080P. The recording quality is still very good, especially close up. If resolution is not the most important factor, lower resolution 480P is also available so by lowering the video recording resolution (not the audio) it record non-stop up to 48 hours before the SD card is full.

Select Loop or Recycle or STOP recording when full. LOOP will slowly over write the internal memory commencing from the earliest recording time and date. It won’t delete all recordings but slowly over write commonly referred to as "recycle recording". Important events should be saved PC or MAC. 

How do I adjust the camera angle?
The camera lens cannot zoom in or out, and it cannot move on its own. It is designed to see a "wide" area all at once. "100 degrees" means it sees a broad area left-to-right (like sitting in the middle of a theater). "15 degrees" means it has a very small range of sight up and down. 

Example: Imagine looking through a mail slot in a door. You can see most of the hallway from side to side, but you can’t see the ceiling or the floor very well.

If you plug the camera into a standard wall outlet, it points straight out. If you plug a "double adapter" (a Y-shaped plug) into the wall first, and then plug the camera into that, it naturally tilts the camera upward.

Using a "Power Board" (Power Strip) for Adjustability

If you want to see a specific shelf, you can put the power board on a table and tilt it up by propping one side of the strip on a book. This gives you total control over where the "eye" of the camera is looking.

A. We use Kingston Class 10 or better micro SD memory cards but we can't test all SD card brands.  We do offer competitive prices on high quality memory cards anyway and if you order from us, we test the camera before dispatch and install.  

Q. What is the warranty term and how fast is a repair or replacement turnaround?
A. 1 year warranty. We are normally able to replace any faulty product within about 48 hours once we receive the defective item. Issues caused by non compliant memory cards or accidental damage is not warranty. Often a camera reset will resolve any issue. Damage caused by power spikes and brownouts is not warrnty

A. Approx 8m so ideal for most room of office surveillance
