Introducing our new slimline all in one ball point writing Pen & Camera. Built into this Pen is a pinhole colour HD camera which is fully concealed by a slide cover.  In other words, not that anyone could actually see the miniature lens, but the slide cover will 100% conceal it anyway for those who may be concerned or perhaps a little paranoid when holding or wearing it. 

Our new Pen Ultra HD Video & Audio Recorder is amazing and supports an optional micro SD memory card up to 128GB which is available at our online checkout.  If customers order an SD card from Hidden Camera Surveillance, we bench test the device and leave a short demo recording on the memory card to ensure recording quality is checked and ready to use. 

What makes this Pen Camera Different?
First of all not everyone needs to record video. We should point out that when video recording is enabled (recording resolution is selectable) it will record audio in sync with audio anyway.  However, video required more memory space and slightly more battery power which needs to be taken into consideration. 

In this regard, it may be that video isn't important but audio or voice recording is paramount. A one touch button does it all. Two short button presses or two long presses selects whether the device is video & audio recording or audio recording only. Make no mistake the digital audio recording playback quality is outstanding and includes "noise cancelling" allowing the Pen Camera to clearly record voice by softening as much as possible, external noise such as traffic or other background noise. 

Can this Pen Camera take still Pictures?
Yes and another function of this device. In some cases video and audio isn't required so it would be nice to secretly and discreetly record time and date stamped still pictures only in colour HD resolution. In still picture mode, each time the operation button is pressed and released, it will take a picture over and over again.  

How do I know Pen Camera is Recording?
Its a question often asked and for good reason. The pinhole camera lens is located at the front of the pen near the pocket shirt clip so it faces out or away from the person wearing the device.  However, on the opposite side of the pen which can't be seen by others, it has a tiny LED. The LED is an indicator only and the LED will show a specific colour to depict differing record functions.

The LED is handy in the sense that YOU know the device is recording in a preferred mode but no other person will see it provided the LED is aimed at you only. If shirt pocket worn, the pen will totally conceal the LED anyway otherwise put your finger over it when being hand held.  Once customers become familiar with the recording options, if there is any doubt or concern about the LED, cover the LED with a little black tape but in most instances it's unnecessary.   

How long with the battery last?
Generally around 150 minutes before needing a recharge.  Please note that recording duration will alter depending on how it's used.  For instance, if the device is frequently switched on/off it will use battery power faster.  Strangely enough surroundings will also play a role. When being body worn and recording if there is frequent movement and moving pixels, extra battery power is used to clearly record in a busy environment which must be taken into consideration.

The Pen Camera recording can be manually paused at any time.  Pausing recording doesn't mean it's no longer using battery power so one does need to be realistic.  If on the other hand the pen camera was connected to a portable powerbank with a much larger battery source, then yes the camera will also record far longer duration but that depends on customer preference and how the device is intended to be used or worn. Furthermore, video/audio recording uses battery power faster than digital audio recording only. Recording quality or resolution is selectable 

How to Recharge the Internal battery? 
This Pen Cam has an internal mini USB interface and we supply a USB lead. One end of the lead is mini size whilst the other cable end is standard size for PC or MAC. When connected this will recharge the battery and with the SD card slotted into PC or MAC will recharge whilst viewing recordings. 

HCS will provide our customers only with a 5V USB charger at no extra cost. Similar to a mobile phone charger but in this case a Pen Camera charger. 

Camera Recordings?
There are basically two options from which to choose.  As mentioned above, connecting the Pen to PC or MAC USB will not just charge the device battery but open camera recording files. Windows Media Player or VLC etc are both quite suitable video and audio players although many other AVI players will do the same.  

All recording files and time and date stamped.  Click on any file to play a recording. Delete a file if not important or download to PC if the file is deemed important. If you have an SD card reader remove the memory card from the Pen Camera and use the USB card reader instead.
